The 2007 National Show
“Picture the setting”
The National Show arena was brilliantly decorated with incredible swags, wall to wall, floor to ceiling in the colors and honor of the Brazilian flag, surrounded by the breeders Sky Boxes adorned with life size photos of some of the most beautiful Brazilian Arabian horses, and the Midwest Stallion line up available via frozen semen to the South American breeders at the 2007 event. Some 40 to 50 of the “Team Members” gathered daily @ the Midwest/Longuini location equipped with a complimentary full service bar, lunch & evening snacks, Internet access and the Midwest marketing Team of David Boggs, Travis Rice and Riyan Rivero.
The mostly American music powered through the show arena causing heart pounding excitement in the horses and fans alike. The energy was like nothing I had ever experienced at a horse show before. With every Champion the music and lyrics of Queens, “We Are the Champions” pounded through the stands encouraging great anticipation of who the honored beauties would be.
To our delight and for the incredible group of champion horses with Longuini/Midwest, that song was played and repeated over and over again. An unprecedented 9 Brazilian National Champion and Reserve awards were garnered to the extreme quality of the animals entrusted to the capable hands of Rinaldo Longuini and his amazing Team. Crowned unanimous National Champion Stallion with the statuesque *Legacy of Fame for La Catalina and Lady Gina Pelham of Argentina; National Champion Mare, the exquisite Miss Prishaza for Brazilian breeder Salim Matar; National Champion Junior Mare (saying good bye as she departs to her new home in the USA and to new owners Roger and Stephanie McMahon), was *Van Toriba; National Champion Junior Stallion, Barhein El Madan owned by Pedro Amaral; National Champion Young Filly bred by Haras Vanguarda and now owned by Jim & Sally Bedeker of the USA, the enchanting *Zanella Van Ryad; Champion yearling class filly was the very typey *Lorena El Madan who was bred by Pedro Amoral and recently purchased by Don and Janey Morse for Oak Ridge Arabians and on her way to the USA… and the incredible list goes on and on!
In addition to his dominating success of the National show ring, Longuini/Balerini sponsored a wonderful evening, dinner and presentation of Private Treaty Sale offerings of Brazils finest. The success of the sale exceeded the expectations with many of the horses selling abroad.
