It was their very first Youth National Championship Show and Courtney and Lyndsey Boggs and their cousins Austin and Olivia were more than a little nervous and excited. Austin Boggs was the first in the halter arena on Tuesday morning with the beautiful OO Ive Been Spotted, in the Half-Arabian Stock-Hunter Gelding Halter class. The class was large and very competitive boasting the likes of previous national champions, but Austin and the handsome Pinto had a stellar class. Austin left the ring galloping with the first National Championship of the day, his first ever, and found it to be both a very exciting and a very emotional moment for he and his family.
The next class in the ring was Lyndsey Boggs leading the Versace daughter ZA Primaverah to her fist National Championship honor in the Half-Arabian Stock-Hunter Mares. The entire Boggs clan ran into center ring for the National Championship winning photograph. Then the announcer said, You folks may as well stay in the ring, because the 2005 Youth Reserve National Champion Half-Arabian Stock-Hunter Mare is DR Gilty Pleasures and Austin Boggs! Two classes later, young Austin was back again in center ring with mom & dad to receive the rose garland and National Champion trophy in the Saddle-Pleasure Gelding Halter with aunt Terry Anne's gelding Shut Up And Dance.
The halter competition wasn't the only place the Boggs kids made their presence known during the 2005 Youth National Show. Courtney Boggs and her handsome Pinto friend, Prince of Thieves made the finals in the ultra competitive Half-Arabian Saddle Seat Equitation Walk-Trot 10 & Under. The week climaxed for the Boggs family with Courtney and Prince turning in a terrific ride in the Tingley Arena on Saturday morning. (Special thanks to her equitation coaches, Bob Battaglia and Russ Vento).
And Olivia Boggs jogged off with a US Top Ten western pleasure walk/trot with the sweetest smile one could imagine!
The youth AHA Parties, get-togethers, dances, dog races, parades and lots of practice and outstanding competition, it was a great first Youth Nationals for the Boggs kids and our congratulations and thanks to the staff of AHA, Your show is amazing!. And next year, watch for Emma Boggs to add her talents and zeal to this stellar mix of youngsters. Look out Arabian Show Horse World, the next generation of Boggs showmen and women is just stepping on stage and into the spotlight!
