DA VINCI FM
Written by the Author of the Lost Legend trilogy - JL Hardesty

With a pedigree that is especially interesting for its apparent diversity, DAVINCI FM offers a unique blend of Domestic, Spanish, Polish, and Egyptian genetic material. A bay of classic smooth and masculine Kuheilan type, DAVINCI FM possesses, none-the-less, a truly exquisite head. His big dark eyes are set wide on a broad, flat forehead considered by great horsemen to be a special sign of intelligence. Tiny, *BASK-like ears, pronounced tear bones, shortness beneath the eyes, and huge nostrils complete the perfect stallion’s head.

So where does this uncommon rare combination come from in that aforementioned pedigree? For the best and most beautiful Kuheilan characteristics, DAVINCI FM traces to *BASK++ on the tail female, and also through his grandsire, Fame VF. This stallion also exhibits the smoothness and substance of the great Gazon son, Raffon++, who appears twice in his pedigree.

The most striking consistency in DAVINCI FM’s heritage, however, is the proclivity for extreme type that comes through almost every line he carries. Some of the most potent and intense genetic material in the Arabian breed comes from the early Egyptian imports of Henry B. Babson. Stallions like the gorgeous Baarouf, bred by Mr. Babson and owned throughout his life by Roy and Nellie Jackson of Southern California, left an utterly indelible mark of extreme beauty on the breed, a mark that can still be seen clearly in horses such as DAVINCI FM fm.

And then there was the exotic Fadjur, interestingly a grandson of the Babson import *Fadl. Another bay stallion with a head so exquisite that it literally stopped traffic, Fadjur, when properly out-crossed as he was in the pedigree of DAVINCI FM, left his own powerful mark upon the breed. It’s interesting to note that despite the distant pedigree links to these Babson descendants, the genetic beauty they continue to send down through the generations is unmistakable.

Additional 20th Century domestic progenitors of classic Arabian type include the Daniel C. Gainey bred horses that appear in DAVINCI FM’s pedigree. Among these are, Gamaar, Gazon, Niga, and *Raffles. And of course W.K. Kellogg’s exotic *Raseyn son, Ferseyn, who appears numerous times in this who’s who of great American Arabians.

A little more familiar to modern day Arabian horse breeders are the Spanish Arabian aristocrats, *Estopa and *GG Samir. Of all the countries of origin for Arabian horses, Spain is arguably the most consistent in the production of beautiful short heads and huge dark eyes.

Modern Egyptian Arabians are also noted for type. In DAVINCI FM’s pedigree, we see the Morafic son, Shaker El Masri and the Nazeer son *Ramses Fayek. Additionally, DAVINCI FM CARRIES the blood of inarguably the two most beautiful stallions ever imported from Poland, United States National Champion Stallions, *Aramus and *BASK++.

Make no mistake, regardless of where the names mentioned herein appear in a pedigree, their potency can still be recognized. When considerately utilized and crossed with mares that carry some of the same genetic material, a stallion of DAVINCI FM’s pedigree and individual quality is certain to make his own mark on the most beautiful breed of horses in the world, the Arabian.
